Thieves broke in to a museum in Leon over the weekend stealing the ceremonial sword of poet Ruben Dario.

The sword was the only artifact missing, the thieves leaving behind valuable original manuscripts by the renowned poet.

The ceremonial sword was used by Dario when he served as Nicaraguan ambassador to Spain.

Police are investigating the robbery.
